Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, email, or password. Install the app and start. Your subscription is tied to your App Store or Google Play account, not to anything Solum holds.
Does it work offline?
Every feature that holds or calculates your data works in airplane mode. The few network calls the app can make are optional and never block anything. The one exception is the optional AI assistant, which needs to reach the provider you connected it to, because that is where the answers come from.
Where is my data stored?
In a local database inside the app's private storage on your phone, encrypted at rest by iOS or Android. We never receive it. The only way any of it leaves the phone is if you send it: an export, a device transfer, or a question to the optional AI assistant, which goes to the provider you chose rather than to us. The full list of what the app can send is on the home page.
What compounds does Solum support?
Anything. Compound names are free text and there is no built-in list, autocomplete, or database of substances. Solum has no opinion about what you track.
Does Solum give dosing advice?
No. It is a logbook and calculator. It does the arithmetic on numbers you enter and records what you tell it. It makes no recommendations, suggestions, or inferences, and nothing in the app is medical advice. If you connect the optional AI assistant, its answers come from a third-party model, not from us, and they are not advice either.
Is there AI in the app?
Yes. Solum 1.2.1 includes an optional AI assistant in the Ask tab. Connect your own provider with an API key to ask about your logbook, use the calculator and draft records for you to review. It is off until you connect, and provider API usage is billed separately. Solum does not run the model or receive your conversations.
What does the AI see?
Your question, and whatever it looks up in your logbook to answer it. Each lookup is shown as a chip you can tap to see exactly what was sent. Three switches in Settings control whether it may read your logbook, use the calculator, or draft records, and a switch that is off means the data behind it is never gathered.
Who runs the AI, and do you see any of it?
Your provider runs it, and we see none of it. The request goes from your phone straight to them under your key. We host no model and no proxy, so there is nothing for us to read, store, or hand over. Their privacy policy governs what you send, so read it before connecting.
Where is my API key kept?
In the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore, never in the app database. It is left out of exports, backups and device transfers, so you re-enter it on a new phone. Settings, Assistant, Disconnect deletes the key and every conversation from the device.
Which syringes does the calculator handle?
U-100 and U-40 are built in, and you can set a custom units-per-ml scale for anything else. The draw is shown in syringe units and millilitres, with a flag when a volume is too small to measure reliably.
Can I track tablets and capsules?
Yes. Oral compounds are tracked by count: strength per tablet, tablets per dose, how many you have on hand, and refills. Supply and run-out dates are calculated the same way as for vials.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Without an export or a device transfer, the data is gone. Solum has no server copy to restore from, by design. Settings → Export All Data produces a full JSON or CSV backup; do it periodically.
How do I move to a new phone?
Settings → Transfer. Local transfer shows a QR code and hands the data over directly. Cloud Transfer encrypts everything on your old phone and passes it through a relay that is wiped as soon as the new phone downloads it, or after 24 hours.
Does Solum sync between devices?
No. It lives on one phone at a time. Transfer moves it; nothing keeps two phones in step.
Are notifications private?
Yes. Upcoming-dose, missed-dose, depletion and observation reminders are all scheduled locally on the phone. No push server is involved.
Can I export my data?
Any time, as JSON or CSV, from Settings. The export is complete and readable without the app.
What does Solum cost?
Solum is a subscription, purchased and managed through the App Store or Google Play. Current prices are shown in the app and on the store listing. Cancel any time from your device's subscription settings.
What does a referral code do?
If someone gave you a code, entering it during setup credits them and may unlock an offer on your subscription. It is optional. Entering one sends the code and a hashed device identifier to our server; nothing about your log is included.
How do I get help?
Email support@getsolum.app. It is read by a person, usually within 48 hours. Please don't attach data exports; we would rather never see your log.
